Good, because I not only listen to Olivia Newton John and ABBA, but Blondie, and RUSH and AC/DC and Metallica and Queen, and Harry Connick Jr and Manhattan Transfer, and Foreigner, and REO Speedwagon, and Paula Abdul.

If you had said Adam Ant I would have had to dispatch a liquidation team.

Of that list...

Olivia Newton John (neutron bomb, to my father): okay in doses.

Abba: Okay in doses

Blondie: Great band

Rush: not heard enough to form an opinion

AC/DC: okay in doses

Matelicca (not a typo): not a fan

Queen: Great band. Possibly one of thr five greatest.

Harry Connick Jr: Haven't heard anything I like, though my experience is limited.

Manhattan Transfer: Very little exposure. I like or hate what I've heard.

Foreigner and REO Speedwagon: what I've heard I've liked.

Paula Abdul: Haven't really listened.

Some of my own favourites:

Queen, Cold Chisel, Dire Straits, Shriekback, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Elton John among others.

I'm mostly into classic rock, 70s and 80s.

I don't care what music one is into, but I 100% agree, when you are looking at a music collection infomercial on TV selling songs from 5 billion years ago you are into, you are old.

I will say this though, between what my late mother was into  and I am into, when any of us get to the assisted/nursing home age like our parents, the music is going to  be far more interesting. It won't be Bing Crosby.

Apart from a few exceptions, I really don't like music from the mid nineties onwards.

I'm apparently the only person in the world who loathes Nirvana and Oasis. Can't stand hip hop/rap and actively cheer when the "singers" blow each other away.

I agree about Nirvana. As for Oasis, if I want to listen to a Beatles cover band, there are better ones to be found.

Lets be honest here, I agree with you. I grew up with 70s and 80s music. I tuned out when grunge rock took over.  But lets face it, those into 90s rock and hip hop, look back on the older folks like us, and reject what we grew up with.

I am quite sure anyone born 10-15 years ago isn't going to be into 90s music either.
