Just about every drug company is throwing everything they've got at it.
Unfortunately their lobbyists have a tendency to give politicians (and occasionally the press) the idea that they're more successful/advanced than they actually are...

This was being done as far back as 2006 with SARS-CoV. AFAIK, the technology never went anywhere.

Correct, no vaccine has been found for SARS1 - and so I'm skeptical one will be found in any brand of short order for SARS2.
