FYI, I lived in the Lynchburg Va for over 10 years, I can tell you that even the other evangelicals in that city outside his church/college, even they hated that family. Jerry was a fucking bully! This is the same asshole who blamed Katrina on gays and abortion supporters. FUCK HIM.
And his history of discriminating against minorities goes back to the fifties. Here is a book of the history of all the vile crap that fat fuck has said, written by two professors who taught at a college he failed out of, the one I graduated from.

Bound in red leather, it was beautiful.

Huh.. sounds like you didn't watch many debates of his, namely the ones with John Lennox / WLC -both professional philosophers of religion -on, "Hitch" was torn apart. He just manages to keep his composure by clever rhetorical gymnastics. He doesn't offer more than that in all of his debates.
