With the control Trump and his cronies are taking over the country, my worry is that the order would come down from people who have no fucking clue about science - medicine specifically.

It's going to take time for a vaccine to be tested for safety and even more time to prove one is effective.  Our instant fix people in charge just seem to want to appear as though they are doing something, anything, even if it's wrong.

Yep, he's just full steam ahead to re-open the country! He has publicly given medical advice WHILE saying he isn't a doctor! What the fuck he should have started with the not a doctor part and then just stopped.

Unfortunately a large segment of the population was hooked into TV ads that started out with some 'star' saying - I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV...and then going on to promote whatever new drug they were selling.  Trump's just using what has worked in the past.  We can't even give him credit for being original in his approach.

While not mandatory in Portugal, if you want your kids in a public or most private schools, they need to be vaccinated ( homeschooling is not a thing here, not sure if its even allowed).

All jobs, even farming, require yearly checks called "medicine of work", payed by the company, that require a fully updated vaccination booklet anongst other exams. Sure if you grow veggies and meat to yourself, you are not required, but if you want to sell them at any market you need a fully updated vaxx booklet.

Hmmm, I suppose for practical purposes, it is mandatory, while in theory, it isn't.

Of course, the scientists might not ever find a vaccine.

In which case it'll be like the Bubonic Plague, where the only people left living are the ones who resisted it the first time around. It'd be one tough winnowing.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I’ll play, that sounds interesting. I predict that within one year to 14 months from today, NZ will institute mandatory Coronavirus inoculations.

Prize is a one hundred dollar Amazon gift card. Judging by the staff, please? I will not challenge any decision made. Judges can modify/clarify rules as needed.

Regarding your report, I recommend you repost it in ‘Questions For Staff’. More detail.

RE: Mandatory vaccinations?
Here in 'Merica Trump will push to open everything up and the stock market will bulge and everyone will be happy until the hospitals quickly fill up and we crash everyone back into quarantine for round two of, "Oops we totally fucked up!"

Oregon will stay in lock-down against the prevailing idea that everything is fine and we will keep lowering our daily numbers until a proper vaccine is developed.

We've been doing pretty well so far, and with the new vague idea of a West Coast pact things are poised to get better, if anything. Brown, Inslee and Newsom look like they're gonna stand up to trump alright.
