Sure I work in colder weather.

In a heated garage..

Duh...

Wink

I've probably posted this true story elsewhere, but Ibedamned if I'll go look. In '75 I worked at a shop in Idaho. The shop was heated up to 40F (maybe it was 50F, fucking cold, in any event) in the winter. Fuck OSHA I guess. Anyway, I was putting marker lights and reflectors on a stake bed truck so that it could pass state inspection, and the snow was melting and dripping on me. Stinky.  Dodgy I asked the boss what the guy did with that truck, and he told me, "He hauls hogs to market". I told him that I wasn't going to work in those conditions, so he told me to take it back outside and let the snow freeze (it was February in Idaho!). And that is what I did, with a nice hot bath when I got home from work.

Nope.

I guess nobody else here has a 2 post lift - or has worked on them. (Not the case on the automotive forum I frequent.)

So - I guess a hint is in order.

...
I can tell when it's 70°f when the lift is moving upwards by the sound.

Got it! There's a microchip/speaker combo in the lift that's temperature activate and says, 'It's 70 degrees! It's 70 degrees!'

What do I win?

True, but it's a silly system!

Ok... Another hint.

It has to do with the redundant safety features of a two post lift design....
