I don’t think the majority of his underwhelming supporters are raging xenophobic bigots, but I could be wrong. My opinion of the supporters I know that don’t want a wall just use the excuse “ we wanted change/ not typical politician” well they got what they got plus some. Brought a face to corporate greed and xenophobia. Guess that’s what happens in an representative republic where you’re faced with bad choices.

You're wrong. As you say, that's an excuse they use. The most generous appraisal of a trump supporter is that they wanted some other thing bad enough that they were willing to sell other people™ up the river.

Your first wrong assumption is that all the people who voted for him support him.or his policies.
I did not vote - but by far the MAJORITY of people who told me they were voting for him BEFORE the election were voting AGAINST Hillary Clinton.
Voting in 2016 was like choosing between hanging and a firing squad - you're fucked either way.

The world may not be, but it wasn't as if the president wasn't telegraphing his intentions. The man ran his campaign on aggressive xenophobia. Whatever else you or your friends liked about trump, or hated about hitlery, and whatever else anyone thought that trump would accomplish, it was always going to come with a side of open bigotry.
Everyone knew it was a snake before anyone picked it up. People had the choice to do what you did, not vote...but that's not what the people you'd like me to consider did, now is it?
I can't wait to hear the new batch of excuses in 2021. Concern trolling over some fictional biden conspiracy, or, hell, maybe he'll just run against hitlery again. I hear that economic anxiety is an evergreen euphemism, maybe they'll stick with that.

The conservative types I know tried to convince me that while Trump was a flip flopping liberal (even worse - a New York Democrat) he was less a flaming leftie than Hillary. "And at least he understands money" (not my words, nor did I believe it).
The Dems picked the most hated woman in America as their candidate - then wonder why she didn't win the election. Because the Electoral College hated her too... Enough to nullify a popular (pun intended)vote.
