I’m getting that Biker believes so strongly in the Right of Conquest that granting ANY territorial concessions to the conquered party is tantamount to giving them titles of nobility, even if the territories in question are among the poorest communities in the country. That said, he seems to not like Israel, which is one of the few nations in this day and age to even try such a thing, so there may be something even deeper than that?

EDIT: I take it that Biker's decision to kudos this post is his admitting that his view is based on an extremely strong view of the Right of Conquest, one that's barely used in the real world these days and is actually illegal to put into practice under international law.

Oddly enough, the Natives weren’t the ‘conquered party’. The treaty ended Red Cloud’s War, mainly because the US had no real interest in continuing the fight. Under the terms of the treaty, it’s hard to see the war as anything other than a Lakota victory.

It was the US army who sued for peace, not the Natives.
