No idea why you think I made any such claim.

Because this:

Not sure that is true. My country is regularly cited as 93% catholic. That is baloney. The RCC was very browned off when we were the first country to legalise same sex marriage by popular vote.

WTF?

I have already told my progeny that when my time comes, put me in a cardboard box, pour on some petrol and light a match.

Um, pretty sure that's not a legal way to dispose of a body in the USA. You don't want your progeny to get charged, do you? :-)
Cremation is probably the cheapest option short of donating your body to science; you don't even have to do anything fancy with the ashes.
It's called hyperbole. Look it up.

Bottom line is I told them not to waste time or money on it. I won't be there. Fuck the flowers and the singer and the priest. Who are those things for? Certainly not for the corpse.

About a week after I had a heart attack in 2017 I started getting fliers in the mail for various funeral homes and cremation services.

Buncha damn vultures.

OK that's a bit creepy. Are they mining hospitals records?

I thought the same thing...where are they getting this information?

edit - I can't seem to get the quotes/edit thing right.  Damnit
