I disagree

The odds are better with dropping the knife, or even better, not picking up the knife, to begin with. I don't know all of the details but someone called the police for a reason. When the police arrived the reason appeared to be a guy threatening people with a knife, who refused to drop the knife.

Sometimes the responsibility/liability falls on the offender, including death.
How did you come to those odds? Yes called the police but the details of why remain scarce. A person had a knife his motivation for having the knife isn't known either. As for dropping it, This goes back to my first point.

That can be the case. It remains to be seen if that applies here.

I watched the video in the article posted.  I also read the article.  Where's the bit about his mother and the knife?  I'm tired, maybe I missed it.

It may have not made your sources, but I saw the clip in the news. It was before police shot him.

Or because he didn't figure mom had a gun?

You are making excuses for the guy RESPONSIBLE for the shooting.

It's clearly suicide by cop.

The cop's only other option was to get stuck by a blade.

Even the mentally ill? You do know his father said he had mental health issues and was on medicine?

I am sorry, but just because someone is armed doesn't mean you always have to kill them. And again, there are plenty of cases where cops successfully disarm people without killing them.

Deadly force should always be a last resort, but in America it has become far to often a hair trigger default.

Ah, there's the dumbass coward again. Who can't rack his thick caveman skull for a better insult and says he ignores people only to then contradict himself by responding twice in the span of a few minutes.

Sad ain't it?  Hehe
