Step 1. Convince people that cops are abusing their power with math.

No one prior to this post intimated that guns are inherently bad. They said that crazy people who wave their guns around indiscriminately ought not to be able to keep them. I know you can do better than strawmanning, OLB.

I can't speak for MA, but I agree...note that you can...and I think that if every gun was as well regulated as a 20mm cannon that alot of people would be satisfied. I'm not sure they should be or have to be, but I'm certain that they would be happy to see as much, if that were on the table.

If the purpose of arms are to facilitate a well-regulated militia, citizens should be able to own all the weapons of a modern military infantry. You might argue that the tanks or auto-cannon should be owned by the state themselves, though.

If you look at the American State Papers you'll note that during the times when we actually thought the militia was useful the government still didn't intend to arm them in any fashion like a regular army.
