The Archaeology Thread
I don't remember seeing a thread dedicated solely to archaeology.

Archaeology is one of my passions so, hopefully, this thread will continue to grow.

First, a collection of rare Corinthian helmets at the museum at Olympia.

Honestly, I didn't know this many helmets had been found.

Holy shit.

I've seen plenty of two-wheeled chariots being found, but this is the first four-wheeled chariot I know about.

Thanks for this.

Never forget, though, that there are archaeologists who are only in it to hide The Truth:

There's another cartoon, that I can't find, where archaeologists uncover a classroom of young dinosaurs and say, "let's just bury it again".

I guess it is safe to say Val really digs this shit. <------See what I did there?

In all seriousness, my favorite archaeology history has to be the ruins of Pompeii after the 79ce eruption of Mt Vesuvius.

What will future archeologists think when they find your mass grave?

I'm having a Viking funeral.

After I've raided Lindisfarne.

And you know I won't be in my own mass grave, right?
