Putting it in my mouth

Homemade Pad Thai. Some mistakes were made, but tastewise it was very close to that of the Pad Thai that I had at the Thai restaurant on the corner. The recipe resulted in too much food, though, so that needs to be scaled back.
Soft tacos from The Bell. It's the first I've eaten from there in some time.

Leftover 15-bean soup. I think next time I'll add more beans. Or maybe just dump the leftovers in with some new beans. There's a thought.
O'Doul's, haven't had any in a while.

I'm going to do you all a favor and let you know my secret recipe that I eat near enough everyday.
I've not personally researched the health effects of all the ingredients but from listening to health and fitness people on podcasts and youtube over the years this is what I've come up with. There was a time when I was obsessed with getting the healthiest food but it was so long ago I don't remember exactly what I found out at the time, I've just pretty much stuck with similar recipes through the years. Chickpeas (I just heard they are a superfood, for whatever that's worth) Pinto beans (I heard these are good for potassium) Either chicken or salmon Ginger Garlic (I heard both ginger and garlic have health benefits but I can't even remember where I heard this) Black pepper Turmeric (I heard over and over about how good turmeric is and how it's effects are increased when heated and combined with black pepper, no idea what the effects are I just repeatedly heard several nutritionists talk about this. Sometimes I add almonds (Good for magnesium) For after I have some dark chocolate, again I don't remember where or what I found about dark chocolate I just heard it was good once. The sauces aren't especially healthy I just like the taste. Nandos sauce. It's peri peri, I don't think they have Nandos in other countries except the UK. I also use Mr Naga which a Bengali in my work told me about, it's extra hot, not many people can handle it. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. |
