Lilibet as a first name is perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned. Thankfully, she can always use an initial for the middle name. It's certainly a perfectly respectable name considering what some celebrities have stupidly called their kids.

Even with the current family tensions, it's pretty unthinkable that the Duke and Duchess would use that name without Elizabeth's blessing. Given her well-known views on the importance of harmony in the royal family, it's likely she felt flattered and saw it as a way to heal the rift.

They could have also add "mac" in the name and call her Lilimacbet, so when she grows up she becomes Ladymacbet.

I am pro-monarchy.
Here's the problem -- for democracy to survive, there must be a head of state with the authority and public support to override an authoritarian.
The jury is still out on whether the Windsors will keep that public support. If it fails, they are done. But if it continues, there is less chance of Commonwealth countries descending into autocracy.
