Thun whyeee would u ploint out that I mussed an " ell" in "Pol Pot"?

Why does it bother you that other people are imperfect?

Because it’s not a spelling error. Every time you’ve mentioned him on these boards, you refer to him as ‘Po Pot’, and have been corrected as often. So, it isn’t that you can’t spell the name, but that you’ve got it locked into your head that it’s really  ‘Po Pot’ and no amount of correction has been able to dislodge it.

So, it’s not your spelling that’s at issue, but your mule-headed ignorance.

Assuming free will for the sake of the argument, I’d say it’s one of the more reasonable (maybe I should say least irrational) explanations for god’s hiddenness that I’ve heard. If our parents followed us around everywhere we went, would we ever really be free to break the rules? Thoughts?

“Just as God's purpose does not allow man to be a physical prisoner, neither does it permit him to exist in an intellectual prison. How would man behave if God were to constantly reveal Himself? Would he really be free? If man were constantly made aware that he was standing in the King's presence, could he go against His will? If God's existence were constantly apparent, this awareness would make man a prisoner.“

So it is the will of god that man should act as if he does not exist.    Which incidentally is indistinguishable from man should act as if god does not exist because for all practical purposes he does not exist.

The words "absent parent" come to mind.

With respect to a god popping in to say hi, or a parent, I do like to think I'd still be able to tell either to fuck off and mind their own business.

We don't think that a cop holding you down is actually stopping you from freely willing whatever they stopped you from doing, so I doubt the mere presence of a glorious asshole would have that effect.

Come on man, can you smell the shoe shine you are shoveling? Why would I worship a being that would allow such horrors to happen, because he promises me I can hang out with him in an after party?

Nazis gassed the Jews, not God. I'll help you out wth your case for evil : 9 million children under the age of 5 die every year for natural reasons.

Okay, so..? Maybe these children are in heavenly existence right now, and we, meanwhile, are stuck in this world discussing evil, who's better off you think? No conclusive argument from evil was ever made. This is common knowledge for anyone who actually read something about the problem of evil. Also, if you are willing to discuss it seriously, this is a problem only under theism, you also have to explain why there is goodness in this world, and prove that evil outweighs goodness in some sense.

"Its [the problem of evil] central thesis [...], is a thesis that no one has been able to establish by a convincing argument" (Philosophy of religion, an introduction - William L. Rowe)

At work.

And the above is evidence of the disconnect that Klorophyll has between the attributes they ascribe to their diety which in no way match the world as it is.

Yes, your honor, I killed that kid, but I did give him a lollipop afterward, so we're square, right?

Garbage god.  Murders the innocent and thinks a ticket to the themepark in the sky makes it all good. A person who genuinely made that defense wouldn't even be afforded the dignity of being considered sane in sentencing. That's padded cell level shit. Bravo.

Kindness after cruelty is awful. It is better to have never been cruel at all.

Kindness after cruelty is common in most abusive relationships.
