Went to my first dentist visit in seven years to deal with a wisdom tooth problem that’s been bothering me, or more accurately, was bothering me about three weeks ago when I made the appointment. Remarkably, the only problem he saw (besides the two bottom wisdom teeth being impacted) is that I’ve been grinding my teeth.

Also, did a little work applying the gold finish on my lap steel. And so, here’s a dry fit of The Guilded Splinter (as much as it can fit, since the paint got into the holes and the tuners &c aren’t going in:

Our huge Labradoodle Cooper (not sure about the Labra part, he was a hundred-pounder) died in May at the age of 12, he was 7 when we got him. We would have preferred an adult doodle (my partner is allergic and needs a hypoallergenic dog), but there's a late pandemic rush on them apparently, so we got a four-month old Aussiedoodle last month and she has named him Finnigan. He's almost too much for her (she has MS), but he has had the desired effect of lifting her spirits over losing Cooper. Finn is clever and easily trained for tricks, slower to pick up on not doing undesired behaviors, but he's getting there. I'm sure a younger couple with more energy could make faster progress with him; but he'll be a less bitey and more housetrained puppy in a couple of weeks.

Puppyhood is certainly trying but doesn't last very long. It sounds like he may be a little stubborn like my Ziggy...but he's so damn lovable that I forgive him his stubbornness.

When calling the dogs in from the yard he tends to ignore the call. He comes when he's ready. We call him "Mr. Special Invitation"...he must enter the house alone...after the other two dogs have already been in for a few minutes.

It's pretty obvious around here who has who trained. LOL

Congrats on Finn. The Aussie genes might keep you hopping for awhile. Tried young ones = content owners.

Found a great Christmas gift for my brother-in-law, and settled on a gift for celebrating his birthday in August. I got him scotch, a bottle for birthday, and a fancy sampler pack for Christmas. I picked up two bottles for myself and the total came to $2 less than I had on my plasma donation debit card. And I got my 15-bean soup started and am looking forward to dinner. No day with bean soup on the menu is a bad day.

I realized that last year I spent all of it sick and too weak to do anything more than I absolutely had to and sometimes couldn't pull that off.

This summer I have more things to do than time...and the energy most days to do it.

I work, then I get in the pool a while, and I have been working on more sewing projects. It's really nice to feel better.

The weather has been mostly cold and rainy here for most of the previous ten days. My arthritis is acting up and my right ankle has been killing me for the past week. I've had trouble getting about the house and I let a huge pile of mail accumulate on my desk. I decided to attend to it this morning and spent over two hours opening envelopes and paying bills. Two checks had arrived from some of my investment portfolios, each for well over $1,000. That brought a bit of much needed sunshine into day.

Got stuff returned to Menards, bought two large digit clocks for the bedroom and bath, returned my library books, picked up the book club selection, and bought healthy amounts of kimchi and Gochujang.
