American actor Ted Danson is best known as Sam Malone on ‘Cheers’. In real life, Danson could never have been a professional baseball pitcher, as he was born without right-side pectoral muscles (known as ‘Poland’s Syndrome’).

Just prior to his death, J.R.R. Tolkien was beginning to write a sequel to Lord of the Rings. He suspended work on it after the initial draft, however, fearing that it would merely be a suspense novel. I would have been fine with that.

Watermelon rinds are edible. A member on Atheist Discussions said that he was making pickled watermelon rinds. He posted a picture of his canning jars containing cubed rinds in homemade brine. He didn't specify whether it was sweet or sour brine, but they look good.
