What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Ain't mentioning any names but recently a friend of mine lost his father to cancer. He was buried on the family ranch a few days ago. Yesterday, my friend's dog made a credible attempt at digging my friends father up.

I am not shitting you.

Just realized that in the last few day I have cut out 900 pieces of fabric to make a quilt...I may have overestimated a bit.

But it does explain why my hands and one shoulder are sore.

There are some weird cafes out there.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Today I learned that the cat we took in last year likes to eat furniture polish. Not really surprising, since she’s already eaten pasta (cooked and uncooked), rice (same), bagels, garlic bread, potato peelings, apples, cocoa powder, onions, celery, rhubarb, flour, two kinds of cold breakfast cereal, and waffles.

My cat will only eat cat food.  Period, full stop.

Doesn't matter what I have tried to give him from chicken and turkey to tuna...he is just not interested.

The dogs are a different matter altogether.  Anything we show up with on a plate is fair game and we get the big sad eyes.

That’d be easier. Our other cats ask for people food like normal cats, but Rio is a little more assertive - she once singed her paw trying to get a bagel out of the toaster while it was on.

That brings another layer to the definition of a cat's paw.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

It turns out that Wordpress has developed and released what I call the “Feed Me a Stray Cat” update. So, suppose you work on a blog that uses Wordpress. And suppose you’ve finished and published a post, and you’re proud of it, at least until you look at it and you notice you made some glaring typos. So, you decide to edit it to rectify that problem. In the decade prior, you could just get it edited and the fixed article would just show up. Now, you edit a post, it goes offline and you have to ask the boss to re-publish it.

When Americans talk about upholding some amendment...

I've just learned that "On December 5, 1933, ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment repealed the Eighteenth Amendment."

The 18th started Prohibition, the 21st repealed it. It can be done.
