John Landis Mason, inventor of the Mason jar and the first screw-top salt shaker, died in poverty in a New York City tenement. He neglected to renew his patents on both inventions.

Evidently, Bob Dylan is terminally online enough to know about Moo Deng and is weird enough to use a photo of her to accompany the latest reupload of his "Must Be Santa" cover.
And, yes, this is from the official Bob Dylan YouTube channel.

Some explanation I've been able to find. Apparently, YouTube itself has been creating Christmas/Moo Deng-themed playlists (I've found two so far), and, evidently, YouTube itself can just post shit like this to an artist's YouTube channel.

It's also possible that Dylan is a fan of pygmy hippos.

I am prepping for a colonoscopy. Fun times. As part of the pre-registration process I had to complete an account set up. One of the tasks was to select my religion (the hospital's name is Saint Soandso). While I could have selected atheist, I instead selected "other" and wrote in voodoo. Should be a fun intake interview.

Give me that old time religion, if it's good enough for mama, it's good enough for me.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Must be that time of year, I have one in 3 weeks. I know this institution has asked religious preference in the past. Stating that I was an atheist didn't matter, they still asked if I wanted to pray prior to going under anesthesia.

The last time my missus went under the knife, she explicitly stated her religious affiliation (‘none’) on the form and asked not to be visited by clergy. Didn’t matter, the hospital chaplain still showed up. If it hadn’t been for the midazolam, the hospital might have had to advertise for a new chaplain.

Yep, last time I was in the hospital I also was visited by the chaplain though I said 'none' for religious affiliation. I kind of figure a couple days in ICU made them think I had changed my mind. He wanted to know if I wanted him to pray with me to thank god. I told him if I was going to thank anyone it would be the medical team that took care of me.

^Ellen wasn’t nearly so eloquent. To this day she doesn’t remember, but I was in the room and clearly heard, ‘Piss off, you bollocking wanker.’
