You know those birds that wander in and out of crocodiles’ mouths, cleaning the teeth? Not a thing (a myth started by Herodotus, who should have known better).

Additionally, those birds are called Egyptian plovers, and they don’t live in Egypt.

The Aztecs had playpens, of a sort. They were essentially a square hole in the ground deep enough that a child couldn’t climb out. Much like modern playpens, they were used so mum could get on with her work without worrying over the child’s safety.
