Covid 19 conspiracies dump
RE: Covid 19 conspiracies dump
Quote:There are thousands or millions of different interpretations of what the teachings of Yeshua were. Muslims believe Yeshua was a prophet, but they don't in turn want to be referred to as Christian. If we're basically saying that the names of religions are like non-binary genders where you can have as many of those as there are people in the world, then sure, if Christian can mean anything you want it to mean, then obviously anyone can be a Christian. Like I pointed out before, I'm a cultural Christian, given where I was born and who raised me. You got me. Anyone who wants to be a Christian can be a Christian. When I hear people say that they are Muslim but they don't pray or really believe, then yeah, that's not what most people are going to think of as a Muslim, so I guess you could call that a Muslim with an asterisk next to it, because without that asterisk my first impression or idea or this persons beliefs is going to be way, way off without first hearing about the asterisk part. And we also need to take into account that JP is a grifter and could be being deceptive about what he really believes. Being a professional snake oil salesman, we can't really know for sure what his actual beliefs are necessarily. He could just be playing a role, like he's doing when he pretends to care about freedom.
Yup Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet but they don't follow his teachings they follow Muhammads first and foremost thus why they are Muslims. So this doesn't refute my point.

Jordy P has written a message to muslims, he's aware of the differences in beliefs. Yes, Christian is a catchall term for alot of different beliefs - and being a cultural christian is a designation for people who have been raised under cover of that culture but who do not, themselves, believe.

Wasn't terrible advice either.

All bullshitting aside, The Wife and I are considering canadia as a destination as early as this coming spring, any place strike you as more like a place I should focus on than others?  I need elevation, lots of water (preferably filthy with small mouth bass), and good people (for novel values of good people I think you probably grok).

And Also...would you and your neighbors be interested in high quality hydroponically grown produce.  Wink
Well as of 2017 we were 7th in domestic gun ownership and we managed to keep crime low even with that. Lots of water and plenty of fish and people are about as good as any others. Though you might find the pot market a little saturated because either you are a grower or you know someone who is.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Austrians expressed shock and anger this week over the suicide of doctor who had been the target of a torrent of abuse and threats from anti-vaccination protesters.

The 36-year-old doctor was found dead at her practice on July 29.

She had long been the target of death threats because of her criticism of the widespread anti-lockdown protests of 2021.

She described how she had "invested more than 100,000 euros" ($102,000) in measures to ensure her patients' safety and was on the brink of bankruptcy.

Then, at the end of June, Kellermayr announced on her professional website that she would not be seeing patients until further notice.

The police, who had previously suggested Kellermayr was exploiting the situation for attention, insist they did everything to protect her.

The local prosecutor's office also rejected suggestions it could have done more.

But on some Telegram groups, the hateful messages continue.

"Some people are celebrating her death; others believe the vaccine killed her," said Ingrid Brodnig, a journalist and author who investigates online disinformation.

40 % of black children in DC will not be allowed to attend school in a couple of weeks because of new policy requiring vax for 12 and up. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday loosened many of its recommendations for battling the coronavirus, a strategic shift that puts more of the onus on individuals, rather than on schools, businesses and other institutions, to limit viral spread.

No longer do schools and other institutions need to screen apparently healthy students and employees as a matter of course. The CDC is putting less emphasis on social distancing — and the new guidance has dropped the “six foot” standard. The quarantine rule for unvaccinated people is gone. The agency’s focus now is on highly vulnerable populations and how to protect them — not on the vast majority of people who at this point have some immunity against the virus and are unlikely to become severely ill.

The new recommendations signal that the Biden administration and its medical advisers have decided that the lower fatality rate from covid-19 in a heavily vaccinated population permits a less demanding set of guidelines.

Trump's former White House coronavirus response coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx said she knew from the start of the pandemic that vaccines were not going to protect against infection, and now says we overplayed vaccines.

No, she did not "know from the start", and her comment about "overplaying" the vaccines was a lament about how getting people to think the vaccine was perfect (something neither she nor the CDC said) made them act irresponsibly, and therefore infect others.  Then, when it was clear it wasn't perfect, it also undermined faith in the vaccine.

She was always pro-vaccine, though the vaccine hasn't kept pace with variants, and is only a partial help at this point.
