There is nothing liberal whatsoever about calling for people to be separated from society. And calling for that not for not being vaccinated, but for having a differing opinion. I'm afraid that you are the one insulting actual liberals by comparing them to Rev Rye. Learn what a liberal is.

My opinion on vaccine mandates for school children is in line with the CDC and the Biden administration. My opinion on vaccine mandates for school children is exactly the same as the extremely left wing government of Canada, and most other very left wing governments. My position and basically the rest of the worlds' position is the only tenable and realistic policy. I'm afraid there is no.. final.. solution. We have to live with the virus. No, I'm afraid I'm not laughing. I'm saddened to witness how people can be so easily taken in with mass formation psychosis to the point they're wishing their perceived political opponents were separated from society. Rev said I should be locked up for having an opinion. Not for being unvaxxed. My entire family is vaxxed and I've not been running around infecting people. And you can't call me self centered because I'm advocating for people who made a different choice than me when they didn't get vaccinated. Me advocating on their behalf is the opposite of self centered.

I'm not here to own the libs as that one poster implied. I wouldn't dislike a person just because they are a liberal, and I've posted a whole list of liberals I admire. I respect that people want everyone to be vaccinated. I respect that people, in their ideal world, would like there to be a school mandate, if that was actually doable and all parents would comply, but once you see that parents are simply not going to comply, you should cut your losses because the vax barely stops spread anyways and accept that it's just not happening and that that particular battle has been lost. DC saw how devastating it would be to actually go forward with the policy, so they delayed it, and they'll likely delay that policy again after the new deadline comes up, because this will just never work. The vaccine is mostly fine. I don't regret taking it. However, the way the effectiveness of the vaccine was/ has been overblown, and the WHO cover-up and preventing a real investigation into the lab is what has in large part broken the trust of the public in authoritative health agencies. Because of the broken trust, now people are going to be more hesitant towards other vaccines as well, which happens when trust in the system in general is lost, and as an extremely pro-vaccine person who loves vaccines and realizes they are the best thing that ever happened for the world (go ahead and laugh and pretend I'm anti-vaxx, but that is my position), this is very worrisome, and I know your side did not intend for this to happen, but your sides careless actions are in large part responsible for people one day not taking vaccines that they absolutely without question will need to take.

Mass formation psychosis is me being nice. I could just say that they're all assholes, but mass formation psychosis can be broken, and the good, once seemingly reasonable person under the spell can come out of it.

I'm still more liberal than most people on this forum in many ways. Abortion up to the day of birth. People invoke "my body, my choice", but these people are phonies unless they support abortion up to the day of birth and no less like I do. I'm far more liberal than most people here when it comes to treatment of prisoners. I hear a lot of "Let em rot" or "I hope they get a taste of their own medicine and get raped in jail" type of comments here, meanwhile, I want to give criminals voting rights and video games. I'm for national healthcare and I like what we have in Canada. I'm for pharmacare, which is the government covering the cost of medications. I think our social safety net is not good enough even in left wing Canada. I support treating illegal immigrants in hospitals whether they can pay or not. People on disability need a living wage. I care about climate change and support trying to do something about that. I care about environmental protections. I care about unjust wars. Gay marriage is cool. Dudes can be hot. I accept the identities of the transes. I think pedophiles should be treated in a way that makes it easier for them to get help, rather than just shit on by all of society for having a certain orientation they didn't choose, and more liberals are starting to see this. I support way more mental health funding, but how about we take it out of the bloated military budget rather than the police budget? I support the government covering the price of every single abortion. I support the government covering the costs of every trans top and bottom surgery. I'm cool with trans in the armed forces.

I'm also pro-gun, pro-free speech, and anti-censorship, and that's where people start to freak out, because speech has become synonymous with violence, and I reject that framing. I do not identify with the Liberal party anymore because now I see where things are going with the world and Canada. I was more naive in the past. Like I said before, I'm politically homeless at the moment and refrained from voting this last go around in the provincial election.
