RE: The Plan
That was one of the things that had me feeling secure about Mormonism, back when I was a believer. They knew the Plan, whereas it felt like other Christian denominations didn't have a clear idea or outline. According to LDS theology, we are all the spirit children of a god who made us all with his many wives in the pre-existence. Our purpose down here is to gain bodies of flesh, learn how to control them and those baser instincts, and if you do it well enough (read: pay enough tithing) then in the next realm YOU get to become a god of your own planet and have tons of spirit children with your many wives. Only men get to though. Women are required to become just the wife of a god and be present for godly procreation. They call it eternal progress, and it is the ultimate fulfillment of our potential as human beings.

At the time I had faith in it, the plan made sense to me and defined my place in the world. Now, I can only think of the horror of an endless god-making factory. It isn't as full of the good feeling wholesome sense of purpose that I originally thought it was.

I wonder if toilet paper was ever part of the big plan.

I don't know about a plan, but I've got an agenda.

Everyone is part of God's Plan, not just Christians.

If you aren't a Christian, then whether you believe in god or not, you aren't worshiping the "right" god, so you aren't part of the plan.  This is basic Christian thinking, not mine.

Of course!  Those are there to confuse the easily gullible and get them out of the way so the true believers have more space!

I don't care what Christians think. Stop using that as a metric.

But they outnumber you, a billion to 1.  Should I use Muslims, instead?  Or should I just accept what you say is right because you have some special link with god?  And what god would that be, anyway?  Zeus?  Zarathustra?  Woden?

A god by any other name is just as imaginary.

But Woden is just so much cooler, don't you think?
