How could I miss this rule for 55 years in the NFL?

Just now tonight Seattle blocked an extra point by Washington, and ran it all the way to the house, but only got 2 points for it.

What the hell have I been smoking?

Ohhhh, you're talking about gridiron. Was confused for a moment.

Aussie rules football doesn't have  touchdowns, we have gaols and points (6 points=1 goal)

Nor do our neanderthals wear prissy padding, except for a cup. This has led to an enviable number of regular concussions, often leading to brain damage. Also the occasional death everyone pretends was caused by something else. Being bitten by a Tsetse fly, that kind of thing.   Great

Abso-fucking-lutely

There's been at least one case where a person had only a thin layer of brain in a head full of fluid. They we perfectly normal the way they functioned.

Remains clear to me that science still knows relatively little about our brains.

Ever hear of a conversion safety? A defensive conversion safety, which is possible but has never happened in the NFL, is the only way a team could finish a game with a final score of one point.

When I heard sport reports about that play, one report said, the  old rule was if you blocked the kick it was considered a dead play. But rules change over time.

I guess my confusion is because such cases are so rare over time, it is easy to lose track.
