What would women do ?

To get a good idea, I suggest you watch the mocumentary "No men beyond this point".  I streamed it on Kanopy but not sure where else to find it.  In this show (also sort of a dark comedy), men were rendered obsolete because women were able to procreate without the need of men and they only created females, so the male was dying out.  Women began to replace men in all stations of leadership and yes, war became non-existent and many long intractable geo-political, environmental, social and cultural problems were quickly resolved. However, man didn't take this lying down and tried to revolt but were essentially oppressed and secluded.  Male/female relationships ended as well and sexual oppression actually became common as sexual intercourse was not needed for procreation.  Yet not all women lost the desire for male companionship and this became a major issue that required cooperation between women of different views.  The treatment of men and women who preferred men was quite bad and I think the point was to demonstrate that women were just as capable as men of making bad decisions and behaving badly when given enough power and control.

So you're saying the patriarchy should go unchecked?

Surely if its the future there'd be some protest against slaves, unless its like mad max and everywhere is in a state of absolute anarchy.

I'm sure adults with children wouldn't mind having their kids behave exactly as they were told. Study hard. Do all your homework. Learn a new language. Study to be a doctor, etc.

It reminds me a little of Logan's Run. In this age of genetic modification, would it make sense to do something genetically? The basic idea is interesting.

We could breed less aggressive men, but that gets into eugenics.
And given that women tend to love bad boys, it's less likely to happen, unless they were forced into it.

When I was a kid, I did exactly as I was told when I got into trouble.
It went like this.

Mom -"Go sit in the corner for 5 minutes."
Me-"You want me to sit in the corner, fine. I'll be here all day."

Then I would get into trouble for sitting too long in the corner.

There would be a huge responsibility with commanding someone to do anything.
You need to say it just the right way, kind of like if a genie granted you 3 wishes.

If you said, "Go study for 5 hours." You might end up with a child who craps his pants and does exactly as you requested.

Women would probably do what they've done historically. Men hunted and bought home meat, women distributed it among the family. They'd act like they did in nature resources would be distributed among the "children". Society would be lacking in the harsh military decisions that must sometimes be made and predatory types would take advantage of this. Just like at home when an unruly child won't obey his mother his mother just says "wait till your father get's home" if that  doesn't straiten him out his father will because men are pragmatic and will deal with issues like this pretty quickly. Of course if no father is ever coming home, the unruly behavior get's worse as can be seen in arias where fatherless homes are statistically high. 

There is even an example of this in a wild life preserve in Africa where young bull elephants were killing rhinos until park officials bought in some older bulls to tame them down. It's just how evolution works.

Actually, there is plenty of evidence that what a group of humans ate and who got it depends on the region in some groups both and women hunted in some groups men hunted and women foraged, and in some both foraged and there is reason to believe women have been the primary disciplinaries in many cultures, not men and issues regarding single families are mostly socioeconomic not merely the lack of a man present, And those are Rhinos, not humans so this doesn't apply.
