Critical Race Theory

RE: Critical Race Theory
So you're saying CRT is a healthy choice for a long term re-capitulization of society? The good is greather than the harm?

I didn't say anything of the sort.  First you have to understand what CRT is and you clearly don't.  Next you have to understand that nothing I've been talking about regarding K - 12 content is CRT, and you clearly don't understand that either.

Baby steps.  You need to learn what it is.  Click HERE if you would like to end your ignorance and talk intelligently about the subject.

Next, consume some of the material that is being banned from K - 12 schools, which is NOT Critical Race Theory, but is being claim to be CRT by radical white people who see any discussion of race as threatening.

Then, you might be able to ask an intelligent question about it.  Your question/comments here are just nonsense.

You really expect me to delve that deeply into it, and do all that reading? Wow, I'm not trying to get brainwashed.

RE: Critical Race Theory
There was a sitcom back around 2005 called "Everybody hates Chris".  It was a quasi-autobiographical show featuring Chris Rock as a young black boy who lived in a poor neighborhood but was bussed to a more affluent part of town to go to a better school populated mostly by white students.  Of course the show featured a lot of interactions between Chris and various white people that demonstrated how his race affected his experiences.  There were plenty of other black characters as well and this was also a big part of his experiences.  I see this New Kid book as a toned down version of that show.  At the time, I don't remember anyone complaining about the show and it was pretty popular, but I wonder if anyone now would object to such a show on TV or allowing their white kids to stream the show.  The content is much the same and even the tone is similar, both clearly humorous.

One thing the show did not do, in my opinion, is depict black people as absolutely innocent and white people as absolutely nefarious.  I think it did a good job of depicting people as individuals with both good and bad tendencies.  Some white and black characters were clearly bad people, but even those had complicated personas and weren't just cardboard cutouts.

The only reason I mention this is for comparison purposes.  People of all races become artists in various ways and artists tend to put their personal experiences into their work.  Some of us find value in learning about life experiences of people not like ourselves.  EHC is such a show, just as New Kid is such a book.  What I object to is a segment of the white population (and its only white people who are doing this) that declares these types of works to be dangerous to their children and seeks to oppress them.

What I expect of people is that they know a little something about what they are talking about.  I know that's a high expectation for someone like you who, clearly, like to blow off at the mouth about any subject whether you know anything about it or not.  So, if you don't know what you are talking about, you should just shut the fuck up.

And for the record, "all that reading"?  New Kid is basically a comic book.  Sorry you can't be bothered to read a single comic book.  And I posted an audio version.  Wow, you really do put a lot into life, don't you?  Good luck with that.

Manga is my favorite kind of book, just so you know. But I won't read a progressive manual......uh, I mean, comic book......that clearly aims to change the reader's opinion on race relations.

I would NOT describe New Kid as any kind of "Progressive" manual.  That's idiotic.  Its a kids book, intended to entertain kids.  It is written by a black author who drew from his own life experiences to craft a story.  Do you object to a person drawing from their own life to craft a story?

Manga is the stupidest material ever printed.  It's intended to brainwash people.  I've never read one.  How do you like that?

@Ahriman  Would you call To Kill a Mockingbird a "progressive manual"?  I'm sure you haven't read it so you must know everything about it.

Let's see, how about The Kite Runner?  Ever read that?  I'm sure you know how horrible it is, too, right?  Tell us, what is the author trying to brainwash us to believe?

Let me guess, @Ahriman; you're looking up those books now to find out what they are about. Don't bother; it's all lost on you.

I read TKAM back in school, but I don't remember much, and TKR isn't even about kites. Those books are more like classics, as opposed to tomes of indoctrination. But maybe I will read NK eventually.

The important thing we've learned here is that there are books Ahriman is afraid to read because they think they're susceptible to progressive propaganda.

Nice job Googling.  TKAM is certainly a classic but I would not call TKR a classic; it's not old enough.  No, it isn't really about kites, but what difference does that make?  It is a book based loosely on a real person's experiences.  If you're going to condemn one book for that reason, you should condemn them all.

What "tomes of indoctrination" are you referring to?  New Kid is a comic book and that's the only book I've referred to here as being banned.

Same reason I never read Harry Potter......something popular like that is bound to be full of nonsense.
