Aron Ra is a member there and often a speaker. Really nice guy...not nearly as scary as he looks. While speaking with him on one occassion, he told me that he used to live in the town where I live. Now he's a couple towns east.
Yup - probably so. I'm in DFW (thus the shout out to "817" in my username). I'll check out the Fellowship - that's good to know. I've watched some of the N TX Church of Freethought videos. I want to get on their live streams or over to one of their in-person meetups in Grapevine sometime, but the timing conflicts with the obligatory family Sunday lunch (post-church for them, post-non-church for me).
I am a recent subscriber to Aron's content. He did the first edition of his new "Blasphemers Bible Study" live stream last weekend. In almost 2 hours, I think they only got through part of Genesis 1, but I learned way, way more about the passages they covered in that 2 hours than in decades of Sunday School - historical, linguistic, competing traditions, etc - really fascinating stuff, and again stuff that was hidden to me before through a combination of my own filters and willful obfuscation by people who should have been mentioning it.

DFW here too. Pre-COVID, the fellowhip hosted Seth Andrews, Aron Ra, Matt Dillahunty, and others for book tours or just speaking tours.
I'm starting to see more activity out of them on FB so maybe they are trying to get back to their gatherings like before.

Then you should also put Godless Engineer on your list as well
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

misterdeity recently had a good video on resurrection of Jesus, where he said among other things
Quote:The single most important event life and act within that life in the entire history of the universe, the one moment in 13.7 billion years for which the entire universe and everything in it was created and in which we must believe to be saved has not one single eyewitness account let alone video documentation.
