Maybe you should put me back on Ignore so that my comments don't send you into a jealous rage and make you wish death upon me.

Please realize that is one person's thoughts that perhaps shouldn't have been said out loud.  You can be a bit of a challenge but I certainly don't wish ill on you and I don't think most people here do.

RE: Negative Self Perception and OCD
OP: Sorry you're experiencing that. To me it sounds like OCD is the primary driver, depression the resultant effect.

Others have suggested psychology/psychiatry and various 'medicinal' treatments/activities which I suggest you investigate.

I'm not sure how often you leave the house and explore the outside world but I think you should give it a try (if you are able). Going out forces your brain to attend to more new/different sensory input and helps reduce the OCD component. Choose a safe place there you don't feel threatened if you can, like a park, walking trail, .......... some where that does not cause stress but requires you mind to pay attention to activity.

Good luck.

Im also realizing that I can barely function as a normal person in group settings. Its like my brain shuts off. I have a major aversion to groupthink but I think it is somewhat normal for humans.

Then join a group of dogs, they're much less judgemental. Volunteer at a shelter.

But ask for help picking the dogs.

Ummm. Okay. You have a point. That was a bit harsh-sounding now that I read it back. My apologies.

I wasn't being serious, y'know?

I literally take 30-40 mg of melatonin every day.

Too high - I'd try to stay under 10 mg.

No need to be careful with melatonin, it's infinitely benign.

Unfortunately it isn't 100% safe.  Some side effects of a dose that's too high:  Anxiety, nausea, blood pressure changes.  It can also interfere with your natural sleep rhythms or give you intense dreams/nightmares.  [Source]

It's the dose that makes the poison; one can overdose on anything, including water, oxygen, vitamins, salt, etc.
