I do not think it is necessary to believe that the same God who has given us our senses, reason, and intelligence wished us to abandon their use, giving us by some other means the information that we could gain through them

Sorry; can't be bothered reading anything with word "patriot' in the title.

It really annoys me to see the term "militant atheists" used in this way. Because we're the ones killing abortion doctors, blowing ourselves up in crowded marketplaces and flying planes into buildings. Oh wait.

Atheists do not take up arms in the name of atheism.

That's because atheists aren't commiting child abuse by destroying their students' ability to think critically.

No, it doesn't. Childish beliefs held by a grown man do not warrant one jot of respect.

Grrr, seriously, this tired old strawman again? Is this guy just trolling?
Atheism is a lack of a belief, not a belief. To suggest that a "proof of atheism" can even exist is a contradiction of terms.

True enough I'm sure, but a great many do. Just as a great many thought it was just dandy to burn atheists alive, for centuries. I suspect many still would if they could.

Most atheists simply can't be bothered attacking the personal superstitions of others. I do not like or respect aggressive militants of any stripe, Christians or atheists.

I am confused. Where are these militant atheists who spread their beliefs 24/7? They have never knocked on my trailer door. Where are these atheists who pray? And why does anyone with half an IQ point care about an obscure Tea Party blog?

Quote:I've never understood why some atheists use suffering to disprove God, but never see joy as proof of Him. It's a circular ideology that makes little sense

He really needs to read up on what circular logic really is. Circular logic means having two (or more) parts of an argument which each rely on each other to prove the other. Such as, "God exists because it says so in the bible, and the bible is true because it's the word of God." It's like Bugs Bunny pulling himself out of a magician's hat by his own ears.

Saying that suffering disproves God but joy isn't proof of him is not circular. An all-good, kind, loving god wouldn't allow people to suffer, and people experiencing joy doesn't mean it has to be because of a god. In fact, there's no evidence whatsoever that we need a god to experience any of our emotions.
