It would appear that my collecting has taken a turn toward critters. Three dogs, a cat, and two parrots.
I have been trying to pare down the stuff in the house.

You keep them instead of cast them into the pit of eternal torment? I think you’ve gone soft and sentimental.

I used to collect quite a few types of tchotchkes and gewgaws and books, but it was too much - I couldn't concentrate and had no room to finish all the projects in progress. Had a minimalist meltdown about twelve years ago and cut back drastically to create some actual physical whitespace in the house. Sold or gave away musical instruments I didn't have time to practice, a comic book collection (mostly Silver Surfer), and mass quantities of stuffed toys and books and CDs.
Now my collections consist of a shelf of Dragonlance books and graphic novels, a few other dragon-themed art pieces, and my five clarinets.

When I was younger, I collected books and fantasy figurines. Now, in my semi old age, I collect nothing.

Mostly books (almost invariably hardcover), movies (largely on Blu-Ray by this point), and music.

As hobbies, I do wood carving, wood working and copper smithing. Been busy and haven't done any copper work in years. I've only done a bit of wood working as of late. One of my online friends talks about people only collecting tools, so in a way, that's what I do. I worked as a piecework mechanic for many years, and not having the right tool at the right time cost me money (wages). Even before I started carving, I started buying tools, because I knew that it was what I wanted to do when I retired (8+YA). Now that I have the tools, I carve when I have the time free from all the other stuff that comes up in life. I've also bult chests to hold said carving tools.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Everybody has something that interests them and/or they like to collect. I'm a member of another Atheist forum, and have been for years, but questions like this have gotten very little response. They're much more interested in debating christians who'd dare post anything there, which is fine.
One thread on that site between themselves and a couple of believers has just gone over a thousand responses, and it's nothing but the same arguments going back and forth for weeks now. Boring.
I'm a member of this forum to hopefully connect with a few other atheists who have some of the same interests I have. I'm and old geezer(64), retired on permanent disability since 2015, and have been married to a devout christian for over 40 years(41 in July).
We have 2 kids, also devout believers, and 4 grandkids aged 15 to 4 years old. Our kid's spouse's both came from the same church they've attended, so I'm completely outnumbered here, but we make it work, somehow.
I'm a lifetime Atheist who loves music, so I have a decent sized collection of CDs, 99% of which is Metal. Everything from Floyd to Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, old Metallica, Megadeth, to Motorhead and RUSH. My preferred genre of metal for the past 20 years now is Black Metal and Death Metal.
I collect concert shirts from the shows I've been to in the past 4 decades+. I also collect Halloween, horror, and heretical shirts, which I've worn every day since then. I probably have at least 150 shirts, 99.9% of which are black.
I also like to collect Halloween items, horror literature and movies, and history and occult literature.
I'm also an old gear head, I love American cars and trucks, and muscle cars. I also collect die cast cars(hot wheels, match box, etc) with our only grandson, he thinks they're pretty cool.
Anybody else collect anything cool that they like? I collect
Coins
Rocks
Wood Carvings
Books
