RE: Azeem Ibrahim: The Chinese Communist Party is scared of Christianity.
What is it that you think happened after covid?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I watched Michael Woods series on China.
Beautiful and fascinating. It's amazing the progress China made in the past few decades. Truly amazing the progress they show.
Whatever they are all about, they have something which works amazingly well for them.
I've only been there twice, but I assure you they don't sit around whining about being Christian and "persecuted".

Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble. - Joseph Campbell  Popcorn

Just like Angrboda claimed you worthless fucking coward. When your stupid little book of lies and manipulation cannot justify a resolution, you either ignore what is being asked of you, or you begin a new thread.

You are a gutless moron.
I hope you don't have any kids.

Well, he's got the gist of it right, most conspiracy theories start out with some little nugget. Whatever they have that's working well by whatever metric is definitely interested in suppressing christianity in china. Just not because of some shadowy "they" afraid of jesus , or even the message of christianity. They would very much like a christianity they control. Nish seems to believe that his religion is a competitor to authoritarian government and I'm inclined to believe he's right about that, at least. In that his religion is a competing authoritarian government. China certainly appreciates the game, even if it's not fond of the players.

But still not as evil as Catholic Church.

Going into conspiracies I see.

Again, the non sequitur crap.

Religion is authoritarian rule, not the resistance. Like when Mussolini created the Vatican.

Or when popes coronated kings in Europe instead of allowing democratic elections. Catholic Church was telling people that Jesus wants these autocrats in power.

It was like that until atheists took over and brought democracy to people.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

A little background on Chinese view of religion. What the nominally communist government is doing has nothing to do with atheist “ideology” or communism. It is continuing a Chinese tradition that goes back to pre-historic times. This Chinese tradition also happen to have identical counterparts in European, near and Middle East going back to pre-historic times, except in China the tradition continued largely unbroken down to the present, where as in Europe, near and Middle East the tradition was broken by the rise of Christianity and Islam.

The tradition is religion is a tool of the government and can be shaped as needed for the governance of each state. The emperor is the chief priest. It doesn’t matter which god you believe in, the emperor is the highest authority for interpreting the will of that god, or else your god is no god but a demon.

So To the Chinese, which god you believe in is unimportant so long as you understand your god is subsumed into a heaven that is inseparable from the Chinese state.
