Boru

WITH A FUCKING TOPIARY, PLEASE.

They did. In 1997. Even if it is in Guy Blank mode.

Honestly, while we're on Stephen King properties that should be remade, Carrie. Ideally something close to the 2002 version, but with a proper budget and no ending where Carrie lives. Then again, the 2013 version was supposed to be like that, but MGM demanded something closer to the DePalma version (but modernised and, evidently, dumber).

They did not do a good job with the Firestarter remake, which suggests another of Carrie is not likely to be any better.

But if we are remaking Carrie, modernize it with a MTF Carrie. Which scratches the period scene.

They already remade Carrie twice, in 2002 and 2013.  And there was a Carrie II in 1999 with Amy Irving.

From what I've heard of the Executive Meddling Kimberly Pierce had to deal with in the 2013 version, I think the problem would be with MGM.

Plus, the original book version Carrie has a whole other aspect of the book, dealing with the aftermath up to and including transcripts of a Congressional inquiry into the events of the prom. I didn't read the novel version of Firestarter, but I don't think there was some major difference between the novel and the original film.

I am aware they have remade it a few times. Looking into the superpower culture, telekinesis is the most popular and usually strongest among those in possession of it.

Who the fuck is Guy Blank? The '97 had a bunch of hedges.

Guy Blank was a character from the sitcom Strangers with Candy. He's the father of protagonist Geri. And, for whatever reason, every single time we see him on camera, he's frozen in mid-gesture, like this:

It seems like he can move (or at least change positions), but only if the camera's not on him. Just like the topiaries in the 1997 Shining.

The topiaries were the only reason I went to see that one. Total bust. That movie let Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire get away with another lame topiary.

None of them.

I'm sick to death of remakes, reboots, and franchises that should have died six movies back.
