I was a smoker on and off (mostly on) for 30 years, I quit 8 years ago.

I don't care to be around it at all any longer.

If the mainstream scolds and disapproves, that makes it more desirable to some people. A desire to defy the normies makes smoking appealing to some percentage of people.

Gave it up five years ago next April, after 35 years, and don't miss it one fucking bit. That "cool factor" sucks ass when a single flight of stairs leaves you winded.

I did my first sub 13 minute mile the other day. Something that, if I had been forced to do it five years ago, would likely have caused a coronary event.

I missed smoking for a while. Now I can only look back and ask "How could I have been so monumentally fucking stupid?"
