Elon Musk
RE: Elon Musk
Too bad there was no SNL this weekend. They could have made fun of the WH Tesla sale and it would have been comedy gold. They could have had Trump knocking on the Cybertruck which then falls apart. Then they sit inside the model S and Trump tries to drive it, but the steering wheel breaks off and stays in Trump's hands. Then Trump says that it doesn't matter because he usually drives cars and vans just by making sounds with his mouth.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

No way that's real but funny! The cyberdork is so heavy (3+tons, compared to < 1 ton for a beetle) it would make a bug an oil spot.

Elon Musk opines that empathy is the greatest threat to western civilization.

I find this absolutely chilling. I can't off the top of my head think of a more evil thing to say. As far as I'm concerned, civilization is empathy. Civilization without empathy is a non-sequitur. Without empathy, you have a dog eat dog world. Hell on Earth.

I would feel sorry for some ineffectual schmuck who thought like this but when a powerful, influential person like Musk says it, I shudder. He has revealed himself as a very dangerous man. He seems to be getting worse and worse all the time.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Elon Musk's gutting of USAID ruled likely unconstitutional. I hope he faces a slew of civil suits as a result.

Vancouver International Auto Show removes Tesla, citing safety concerns at event

Tesla has been removed from participating in this week's Vancouver International Auto Show over safety concerns, the event's executive director says.

Eric Nicholl said in a statement Tuesday that the show asked the electric carmaker to withdraw because of a "primary concern" for the safety of workers, attendees and exhibitors.

Nicholl said Tesla was provided “multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw.”

"This decision will ensure all attendees can be solely focused on enjoying the many positive elements of the event," the statement said.

The automaker's removal comes after so-called "Tesla Takedown" protests on the weekend, including in Ottawa and Metro Vancouver, that denounced Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his role advising U.S. President Donald Trump.

About two dozen protesters had gathered outside a Tesla dealership in Surrey, B.C., on Sunday, the day after a similar protest in Vancouver, holding signs with messages including "elbows up," "Elon be-gone" and "democracy dies in apathy."

I like that Tesla is taking in the shorts due to Musk's bullshit. I think he's overrated his sway and may be about to find out that his political involvement has a cost.

I think he knows the cost, and expecting Trump to bail him out if necessary, doesn't care.

The game is to drive the market down so that the oligarchs can scoop up companies at a discount.

The funny bit is that Leon doesn't realize he's the embodiment of Dr. Evil from the Myers movies. He is that absurd.

I think of him as a cheap dime store knock-off Lex Luthor.
