Loved the show. Nazi propaganda had a strong environmentalist bent. The combination of a back to the lander movement, the mysticism of race, and a darwinian sense of purpose lead inexorably to environmentalism becoming yet another reason to destroy others lives. They would displace this or that people and establish the worlds finest nature preserves in order to increase the ethnic blocks access to nourishment and enrichment, they said. A million dead human beings is just competition, the survival of the fittest. The soviets after them would also lean into environmentalism.
What we have in the us isn't a market driven economy model. FF has been upside down for years now. It's responded by capturing our government - mandating the purchase and export of it's products by law precisely because the market does not demand it. The whale oil industry also tried to protect itself on the way out. In the end it was just too expensive not to go with the alternatives.
