There's an old saying here in central Massachusetts: Summer is the best two days of the year. Today is one of them. Temp is 75F, dew point is 58F. Glorious day.
92F, 80% humidity, 79F dew point. As long as I stay out of the sun and don't exert myself much it's fine. It rained about 2" in about twenty minutes this afternoon.
Hot. I had to make a second trip to the store because I forgot something. I've got a lot of packages waiting at Whole Foods downtown. I think I'll see if there's any cooling headed our way.
Tropical storm coming through this weekend. At least I don't work.

Hot and humid today, thunderstorms now. Thunder is rolling through this little valley we live in. It seems to be getting further away. I love the warm rain.

The Miss Tempest known as Debby, now a low category hurricane, has been pummeling us with winds and rain.

Today is the last day of blistering heat (over 100F) then we're getting a break for at least a week, highs in the 70's.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
July was dry and hot, as was June. August has started out the same but we may hit the thunderstorm jackpot this afternoon and pick up a few centimeters of rain. Our rain barrels are almost dry. The garden is stressed.

In the Northeast we would buy french toast supplies for a severe winter storm, so go grab some eggs, milk, and bread! ETA - the few hurricanes we've had up here, I remember my parents filling the bathtub and buckets in case we had to flush with it. Gloria and Bob were the worst up here, nothing compared to FLA latitudes Worst weather I've experienced was the nearly 5 feet of snow in January-February 2015. I had to shovel my roof to prevent ice dams. And I'm terrified of heights. Snow banks were so high SUVs couldn't see over them. Some were over 9 feet tall. More than that was the three times a week crushing snow that had to be moved. I remember playing with my kids outside and being roughly as tall as the roof of my porch ( 5 feet of snow pack and a 6 foot tall hombre). I've used my snowblower about 20 times since then, never for more than a foot at a time, and only 3 times last winter. Changing climate |
