There's a cold front that's been hanging around for over a week, keeping temperatures relatively cool for the tropics. The sea is angry, two boats have swamped and sank in the past few days and the captain of the port has closed the marine preserve where I work.

It's cold out this week. Hovering around 15 F. I've got a package to pick up at UPS but I'll wait until it warms up later this week.

We woke up to springlike temperatures this morning. It was in the low 60s with the wind blowing a gale. Just over 12 hours later and it's 29 with a wind chill of -8. Winter arrived. It's supposed to be highs in the 30 this coming week with a chance of rain turning to snow Thursday and Friday.

That's gonna be fun because it sounds like a typical forecast which really means we are going to get iced in for a couple days.

77° today, with wind and fire warnings. Shit. It's been a dry La Niña winter, and some asshole is going to start a fire. Nailing said individual's genitalia to the ground and letting the fire do its work is too good a punishment.
