I decided to buy a Walmart-brand radiant space heater. I've got credit left from returning the ice maker, and while it may not be needed much longer, with a 3-year warranty, I'll be good for next year.

I changed my mind about the radiant heater. For safety, I had planned to turn it off at bedtime and on again in the morning. But given how long it would take to have an effect after turning on, a good chunk of the day wouldn't really benefit from it. Weather.com is forecasting one more cold week in February. The rest of the time is will be around 30 F.

Target has a 22" Lasko ceramic tower heater available for pickup today with 2-year warranty for $65. That may be the way to go. Lasko makes good shit.

Ordered a pedestal ceramic tower heater from Traget. It's a few dollars more, but it has tip-over protection, unlike the cheaper one. It will sit right next to my desk.

It's actually kind of cold in the early morning (14C/57F), which is only cold on account of we - like most people here - have no heat in our home. Normally the concrete construction retains enough heat to keep the house comfortable but it's not been hot enough.
^ That's an ancient native thing, where they built the walls over 2 feet thick in order to absorb the sun's heat and release it at night. Concrete doesn't have the same specific heat capacity, and it probably isn't thick enough, either.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
