They arent being mean to gays, they are merely doing what God told them (fucking zombies), but of course they ignore the other abominations, such as eating shellfish, planting 2 different crops in the same feild, and wearing clothing made of mor than one type of fiber. They laugh at those laws, even though its the same god, and the same type of abomination as gay sex. I wash my hands and feet of them..so tired of their ignorant mind games, not to mention when was "being told" your morals considered more superior than choosing your own? I consider choosing your own to be far superior *drying my hands and feet off* (April 20, 2011 at 1:53 pm)DeistPaladin Wrote:(April 19, 2011 at 5:03 pm)Minimalist Wrote: Not to quibble, D-P but "Paul" (or whoever) was clearly commenting on the OT in Romans. Second-hand bigotry is still bigotry and the source is that vile pile of shit called "Leviticus." Are you saying God started creation on a Sunday, how do you know this, it very well may have been Wednesday. The original commandment says, six days you shall labor and on the seventh (sabbath) you shall rest. Did not see any days of the week mentioned.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Since it's established that Jesus rose on Sunday, the day before is Saturday and Mark and Matt establish that Jesus arose after the sabbath. You do the math.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
I don't know about anyone else, but as far as this thread goes, I'm of the opinion that Min's responses win the thread and should have ended it with the first one.

Not necessarily a Christian say it, but have you ever been told you don't have any morals because you don't believe in a higher being?Sadly, yes I have heard Christians say that, and they are deeply, deeply wrong - in fact, many of the non-theists I've met lead much more moral lives than most Christians including myself, and have a better understanding of what is right and what is wrong. If a Christian does tell you that you have no morals, tell them to go and read Romans 2:14-16. However, many Christians are also misunderstood to be saying this when they are actually making the claim that atheism leads to problems grounding the existence of moral values (meta-ethics) and demonstrating the truth of moral claims (moral epistemology). There has been a long tradition of theists making such arguments from John Locke and Immanuel Kant through to 20th century philosophers like Robert Adams and apologists like C.S. Lewis) - there's a good article here about the different kinds of arguments that have been made over the years. (April 19, 2011 at 2:15 am)elitekrown Wrote: Ever hear that too? I mean we can do any shit we want and not be punished for it. Oh, wait. I forgot about the cops. Meh, I can still kill a bunch of school kids and live off the government for the rest of my life. I mean, hey, so I spend the only life I get in a 6x8 cell, at least I don't have to go to church. If you expect it to change him in any way... but you are much smarter than that. I have told myself "no more posting bible verses for dogschild". Not trying to tell you what to do... just kind of giving you a friendly nudge. Quote:Since it's established that Jesus rose on Sunday, It is not "established" that any such fucker ever rose at all.
