No morals!?
#31
RE: No morals!?
A day and yes it was Saturday, was set for the Sabbath for the Hebrews after the exodus. Before this you see no day set for the Sabbath, again I will state that the original commandment is six days you shall labor but on the seventh you shall rest. Now I ask again where in the original commandment does it say Saturday.

rev.j I'm happy that you are going to quit twisting scripture, thank you.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

When I start posting videos again, I'm going to do one on the use and abuse of the Ad Hoc Hypothesis.

The OT isn't going to use terms like "Saturday" and "Sunday" because these days are named after Germanic and Roman gods. Saturday is the day of "Saturn". Sunday is the day of the sun god. etc.

So what your saying is that there is nothing special about sunday and any seven day cycle of days will do?

Please work on your reading and retention skills, I said no such thing.

I said that YOU were not worth going into the bible and hunting verses down anymore. It wasnt a statement agreeing with you. It was a statement that your worth for my time and work is quickly diminshing. Soon you may be ignored altogether. Your only worth to me currently is your occasional ability to make me laugh at you as if you were a courts fool.

That in no ways says that my future posts will not have disgusting bible verses in context so that we may laugh at them and point our fingers at the likes of you and your ilk for believing in such horse tripe

But please, by all means, come up with more excuses. They make me laugh the most.

The sooner the better, I'm tired of reading your tripe.

Proposed:

Morals are those things that allow us to live with ourselves.

Ethics are those things that allow us to live with others.

From the above I can say that my morality is consistent, and my ethics are situational.

RE: No morals!?
The irony is that christianity actually needs 'morality in people who don't believe in God' to be true.

Christianity suggests that God will judge everyone.

Christianity suggests that God is fair.

If God is fair, God could not judge someone by a morality he/she doesn't have or cannot have. Can a fair God judge a fish for not being a bird?

If lack of a belief in God means someone cannot be moral, cannot have any morals, then it would mean God cannot judge anyone who doesn't believe in God.

So there you go. Atheism = Purity.

Moreover, it actually seems like the bible itself talks about morality existing in gentiles. If gentiles are anyone not a believer in this religious system, then that must include atheists as well.

"Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them." Romans 2:14

Oh lookee here. Conscience, morality.

But who reads the bible anyway?
"People need heroes. They don't need to know how he died clawing his eyes out, screaming for mercy. The real story would just hurt sales, and dampen the spirits of our customers." - Mythology for Profit

RE: No morals!?
Perfect verse thanks FW. Of course you (as atheist) have the potential to be moral but choose to abstain to a degree. It's not that you don't have potential.
