You left out Adams, Hayes, and Harrison.
They didn’t ’fuck things up’. They were following Constitutional law. Outdated law, to be sure, but barring an amendment, they had no choice.
American presidents are not elected by popular vote. Never have been.

I didn't particularly cared above three mentioned by you. Also not being American I don't care all that much for how exactly system works - I simply see president "winning" elections despite losing popular vote as a parody and proof of failure of the system. In my view it is popular vote that reigns supreme.

America is ready. Some aren't, and some will never be. After 2016 I wasn't sure we'd ever be ready in my lifetime. Then 2020 came around, and I had hopes for Elizabeth Warren, but it never materialized. I was a bit heartbroken that I'd probably be approaching my mid 40's by the time we had a chance at a female President. And now here we are. I'm ready to do this! And I'll drag along anyone I need to.
