Bel hasn't shown up as he is so excited that Rev. brought up Dante he can't even post right now.

Those categories will have many theists in serious trouble. Luckily, for them and everyone else, there is not one shred of objective evidence we can survive the death of our brains in any meaningful way. What did the Hitch say when asked what he though happens after you die, he smiled, and said "nothing I suspect, it's just "Hell Darkness My Old Friend"...then laughed.

I don't want a funeral, and don't care if there is one, as it's the one party thrown for me I definitely won't be able to attend, but if I was planning one, that Simon & Garfunkel classic would be my choice of music, and "The End" by the Doors, then Monty Pythons "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life"....

The only food would be devilled eggs...

Dress code would be left to each person.

Strictly no religion whatsoever, though I do have a weakness for one or two hymns mind, but there's a fucking time and a place for all that.. Hmph

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, Fry said he’d ask God, ‘Bone cancer in children? What’s THAT about?’

Boru

That's the one. He didn't leave much unscorched.  Hehe

This gives me a good excuse to post this gem.

RE: The Idea of Hell
One of things I also want to mention here is: Why are some people so damn serious about the issue? (I mean the issue of sin and then going to hell – eternal torture -)?

Personally, I don’t like the idea of being serious all the time. And on a spiritual level, it’s a red flag. Do not trust anyone who is overly serious on his/her spiritual (or even political or philosophical) convictions. Why?

Because none of us is that important in this universe. It’s as simple as that.

There was a movie called “The Next Karate Kid” (1994: Pat Morita + Hilary Swank):

Mr. Miagi takes his student (who happens to be a restless teenager) to a Shinto Monastery so that she can be silent and get in touch with her own inner realities. Then there is this scene when Julie Pierce (the student) secretly turns the music one while she is training (which is completely against the rules of a silent monastic retreat). Then the monks arrive. And instead of lecturing her about the rules of being silent in a monastery they simply start dancing with the music and say: “Never trust a spiritual leader who cannot dance”. Smile  Cool
