All those terms he used are subjective terms, and if, to my perception, something is barbaric, i'm damn well allowed to express that sentiment. And murdering people for apostasy goes against the established laws of every developed country. Not all behaviors are acceptable.

2. Criminality in Islamic countries is lower partly because punishments are more severe. Too severe. Capital punishment in our countries is really hard to administer. And it is painless and private, unlike the public executions in Saudi Arabia.

3. Lashings are torture. For some reason, in our countries, it is illegal to beat up someone until they cant walk anymore.

Do you think that the severity of the punishments is the sole reason for the low crime rates?

Personally no rayaan. But that is my opinion...you really don't have "low crime rates" you have high rates of legalised murder in the name of this dog you worship. AND a declining female population...blokes don't breed.

No i don't, i put the word "partly" in there for a reason. It would be simplistic to think in these terms. It is a factor, but Islam is a context leading to less crime. However, it also is a context leading to stonings.

Kichi, it is true that for crimes that all countries consider as such, like stealing for example, islamic countries have lower crime rates. No religion is all black. It doesn't change the fact that the religion and its punishments are barbaric though.

Is it barbaric? Yes and its pure filth. Muslim immigrants should NOT be allowed to practice it, both within the private and public sphere of life.

The crime rate in Islamic countries would probably be 3x higher if women weren't afraid to report crimes.

What is the punishment for apostasy?

That pretty much answers it.

And mohammed is one of the most popular names in he world so it wasnt even as if she was singling out the fake prohet of theirs.

I guess that wasnt the point. There was probably some other point that they were trying to make, like 'dont get educated girls or this could be you'

funny because it wasn't even her who allowed it to be called mohammed, it was the children. did they recieve 40 lashings i wonder?

either way it's absolutely ludicrous that something like this could even happen. that's sharia law for you.

It is very primitive and a disgrace on the countries who support it. It is also a very telling indictment on those individuals who support it, is my opinion, as such it has no place in a modern society.

I agree. That is MY moral view.I make no claims to having a value system of absolute moral imperatives..

The most extreme of societies have only a thin veneer of modernity. They remain insular tribal cultures at their core. The emphasis they give their religion and daily life (such as a medieval pre occupation with notions of tribe, honour and treating women as chattel) is a reflection of their society. Their religion did not create their society,, but was tailored to fit. Their values and laws are merely at about a 150-200 year remove from ours. They will change eventually.

I would resist anyone trying to impose such a system in my country. However, I would not go to another country and presume to tell them how to live,or what laws they should have. It is up to the people of a country to determine what form of government and what legal system they want.

Looking around the world at the horrors human beings inflict on one another,it's clear to me countries only interfere with others when it is in their perceived best interest to do so. Claims to a non existent moral high ground make me want to vomit.

I would gladly become barbaric on anyone trying to force that tribal sharia law on me.
