Love the false definition there. I guess switzerland isn't a nation these days. Good to know. So who claims the land first?

Dibs on the banks. Or at least Jason Bourne's account.

This is what actually won the second world war.

Everything else was incidental.

That and the German 75mm long barrel anti-tank gun was superb. Went through the Sherman like shit through a goose.

But they did not have enough of them. Or pretty much anything else.

"We could kill five of your Shermans with one of our tanks. But you always had six."

I would be very reluctant to give victory in WWII to a single weapon anymore than I would give it to a single country.

And I wouldn't want to be at the wrong end of an '88 either.

And be sure you're in the sixth Sherman, cos if you were in one of the first five, you're fucked.

RE: WWII
The Sherman was nicknamed The Ronson because of its penchant for "lighting up."

Still, if one needed to single out one system which made victory possible the Liberty ships would have to be right up there. Pieces of crap from the keel up but we built them faster than the u-boats could sink them and they had to expose themselves to ever more sophisticated radar/sonar in order to do so.
