Incitement to violence.
February 9, 2009 at 9:18 am
If a book intended as a guide to living was written today that promoted and condoned slavery, sexism, infanticide, homophobia and murder it would never make it's way to the publishers, let alone be allowed to be sold.
So, how is it that in these politically correct times the Bible is still in print and easily bought by anyone who wants a copy?

Tbh, it has use as literature. Never for morals or guidance but, much of the english language developed from its influence. Terms like 'Eye for and eye' for example while harsh and negative are part of the language. So one can look at the bible from a literary point of view and get something usefull but, as the joke goes (somewhat seriously for a joke): the bible should have a big red sticker on it that says something along the lines of 'This book is a work of fiction, any similarities to the real world are purely coincedental.'
Without the sticker it's just a matter of religious wingnuts trying to force their beleifs on others.
And on a related note, try to take the bible out of print and only the christians and such who think it's holy will defend it, Muslims will agree it should be taken out of print. Try to take the koran out and the christians will agree with you but, the muslims will fight it.
