A thought on taxes
May 17, 2011 at 5:30 pm
I don't know if there are many readers who live in a condo (or some similar housing association where a maintenance fee covers the common facilities shared by the owners). If you do, you know how maintenance fees work. You pay into a pool that is then used for the upkeep of common areas, such as grounds, facilities, building repairs, etc. The burden of maintaining the community is typically divided among the owners proportional to the space of each housing unit. If you own a larger condo, you pay proportionally more in monthly maintenance.
Why not structure tax burdens of running society in this manner?
Let's say the top 1% earn 40% of the total income for the nation. Income tax brackets should be adjusted so that 40% of our tax revenue comes from them.

Only the scum of the planet want 'equality', which is the least fair thin in existence.
That being said, some of us (like me) have a minimum standard for living humans. If there are people far and beyond that minimum whilst it continues to affect many people: the rich really won't miss that small amount it takes to raise the others up to the minimum.

Here’s a thought on taxes. Let’s charge social security and Medicare taxes on all personal income.

Well, when we had progressive taxing where I some from, the rich people started to move abroad, taking their companies with them.. '-_-
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Yeah they'll only go abuse someone else so it's our responsibility to take their abuse like good children.
