My change to Atheism from Christianity (I'm 14)

RE: My change to Atheism from Christianity (I'm 14)
Excellent, getting somewhere, which translation of scripture am I to use. I don't want you screaming " but that's not in MY bible!"
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It's never a good idea to use just one translation. Bible study is done best when multiple translations are used. I will usually use the NASB along with the ESV even though most translations are pretty good. The New World translation is one I will not use though.

NASB and ESV, excellent. Are we operating under the assumption of biblical inerrancy?

I operate under the assumption that the original texts were the inerrant word of God yes.

You just poisoned your own well. Why on earth would you want to do that?

Frodo, remember that ridiculous argument about things which cannot be defined?

Statler, I don't persistently attempt to include back doors in my arguments through which I can slither out, do you feel that I should debate a subject with a person who does?

You wanted me to tell you that the current translations are what were inspired? That's absurd, Christians do not believe that. If you are going to argue against Christianity, argue against Christianity, not a straw man version of it. Do I believe the modern translations are accurate representations? For the most part yes, but that is why it is important to use more than one.

If a lack of error is imperative, why don't christians learn to read Hebrew and Greek?

Not following you there, the translations were taken from Hebrew and Greek manuscripts and most theologians do take courses in Hebrew and/or Greek. I don’t believe there are really any major errors in modern translations, especially something like the ESV because so much time went into that translation, it’s a great one.

You don't "believe" there is much error in that one, yet you insist on using multiple translations, not knowing the original text personally. This is fine with me, but you made a big deal about not understanding things and yet speaking on belief based on the consensus of scientists. Why is this a special circumstance, in which balancing multiple versions against each other may or may not be necessary to correctly understand the Word? In other words, why is there not an ultimate version?
