Last time I tested Fedora it was so awfully slow compared to Ubuntu I never used it again.

Fedora 15, aside from it's start-up time being slower than *buntu, is blazingly fast.

Plus I love Gnome 3 Big Grin Unity in comparison is an absolute POS.

I don't use unity. Fedora was awfully slow last time I tried it, there was no getting around that fact. Ubuntu beat it at every level, from startup to application level. It is possible that Fedora has improved over time, but that it was slower is not just a feeling but measurable.
