Actually,
Quote:A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
it's one sentence and the well-regulated militia part appears first. Every shithead who wants a gun is not a well-regulated militia.

As a former sheriff's deputy, I can't say that I am impressed with how most gun nuts choose to interpret the 2nd Amendment, but they seem to be less a problem than nuts with guns. I always find interesting how law enforcement officers, former or present day, bandy about the term gun "nuts". As if those who own guns are somehow mentally unsound or should be considered a risk simply because they are armed.
Meanwhile nuts with guns often enough wear a badge, have grand arsenals at their disposal and are members of the largest armed gang in the United States second only to the United States Military.
We can certainly have a discussion about the right to bear arms. However, even your link provides the evidence, there is no debate. We the people have the right to own guns so as to insure domestic tranquility and defend this nation against all enemies foreign and domestic. And goodness knows there are enough citizens buried due to death by out of control armed gun nut cops, to demonstrate exactly what defines that imperative.

Judas, when you've had to respond to a DV call at a house containing fifty plus firearms, you'll understand what gun nuts mean to LEOs. Nowhere in the 2nd Amendment does it say that each individual is responsible for maintaining enough firearms for an entire militia, and yet millions of Americans go apeshit over them, collecting assault rifles, riot guns, and enough sidearms to stuff an elephant-not to mention hoarding ammo for the next Red Dawn. It is ridiculous and deserves ridicule. Go ahead, keep a sidearm if you want. Hell, keep a shotgun and a 30-06 if you hunt. But the fuck if you need an AR15 or an AK47, or a Thompson or Uzi, and the fuck if you need one of each.

My goodness.
Rick Perry is not even a big enough dickhead for the Tea Party!
http://apnews.excite.com/article/2011071...TMC03.html
Quote:Tea party groups from New Hampshire to Texas are collaborating to criticize Perry's record on immigration, public health and spending and his former affiliation with the Democratic Party.
"It's real easy to walk into church on Sunday morning and sing from the hymnal. I saw a guy that talked like a tea party candidate but didn't govern like one," said Debra Medina, a Texas tea party activist who challenged Perry in the 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary. "I still don't think he governs like the conservative he professes to be."
Texas conservatives recently shared material on Perry's record with the New Hampshire Tea Party Coalition, which dedicated a section of its website to the Texas governor. The coalition offers links to negative media coverage and videos about the man who it says "was Al Gore's Democrat chairman" in 1988. Perry switched to the Republican Party in 1989, around the same time as other conservative Democrats.
Apparently if you were ever a democrat you are fucked in the eyes of these morons. Like Hitler ruling that one Jewish grandparent was enough to send you to the ovens.

People should be allowed to pray and rally to pray. What's the problem? It's not like they would be doing anything productive in the first place.

Here's the problem: the American Constitution states that no government shall be allowed to promote a specific belief or religion. It's against the law for him to be holding this rally. He is doing this such that the church will gather more and more money, it's a scam. I love secularism, I hate state indoctrinated and endorsed bullshit.
