I'd imagine you would have cause to wonder about a great many things. Like, why people can read an article of importance and dismiss the import of the whole message by making a juvenile comment about a missing consonant. Especially when they themselves contrive a nonsense term like "the general people". And particularly when proof reading and correcting that missing "a" would be the copy editors responsibility not to article's author.

I refuse to be a party any further to the hijacking of this thread.
If someone doesn't respect the overall message of the article, they're certainly free to be mature enough to leave it alone. Or not.

May I suggest not posting such asinine responses in topics that are obviously serious in future then? I can totally see why TSQ responded the way she did, I'd be upset too if someone took a dump on the topic I feel strongly about.

I gave it a response before. It was the second time I'd responded to it, and I did so solely to express my amusement with it (what it reminded me of and a number of other similar:

)
. People take shits on topics I feel strongly about often. People ignore other ones that I feel strongly about all the time. Am I then to snap at everyone who isn't interested in what I am and still managed to give it a laugh? Heck no... I feel better that someone even looked at it Tongue

This topic also was not obviously serious to me. Someone's grandmother didn't die. Nobody lost thousands of dollars. No rapist hurt someone I like. I followed a post that said "Oh, in the name of all that is good and holy in Odin's beard, was that the most derailed thread in all existence." and posted in that newly split thread immediately before touching the original again.

And even when one is upset at something... that should be no call to respond in bitterness. I did read it, I didn't find it particularly gripping, I did get amused by 'bestiality' (and still am, and will be for the next dozen times or so I see it).

Indeed, those people that believe I dismissed the article on a spelling error. Which in this case includes you Smile

I certainly do wonder about a great many things, whether I've 'cause' to or not. Few of them regarding why people can be amused by a missing vowel (it's not a consonant, hon). Because I don't wonder as to why I could be amused by this and state so. I contrive many nonsense terms, including your left ankle... but 'the general people' has a very distinct meaning, comparable to that of 'the faceless hordes' or 'the anonymous masses'.

Also... the first editor is the author. Any additional editors may not be present, but the author always is. I know not if said author has any other editors, so I presume only so much as I do know: that the author edited it and missed that.

And this coming from the one who has the "absence of maturity" to not leave my post alone? Sleepy

Why would one be mature when being immature is so much more fun?

I'm sorry to say that there were a lot more mistakes where that one came from. Sad However, the position of the author, the sentiment and the points he makes are valid. I don't particularly indulge in blog posts that come from a position of emotion (in fact, I rarely read blogs at all), but he managed to input logic into what is an emotional standpoint based on a negative experience, so I liked it. I must say that my favorite parts have nothing to do with the Bible and everything to do with this country's foundations. I see why you liked it, Summer.

That's enough, children. Syn already had to split this thread once. I admit that I was part of that, but I would hate for him to have to do it again. We don't have to like everything posted in here and we don't have to like each other's comments, but people are obviously getting offended, so enough with the tangents.

All right cut it out. Maybe I should have gotten irritated, maybe I shouldn't have. If Sae doesn't care, then she doesn't care. I find it hard to believe it's necessary to pick over a few words here or there on a blog post where the person feels incredibly strong about what they are writing and were probably in an emotional state when composing. I didn't notice that many errors when reading it, although I like Shell find that too many takes away from the credibility.

My irritation comes from dismissing it altogether when we have members like Red Baron who are in situations that could have been similar. And didn't I read something about 8bit having a problem?

Notice last night I wasn't having a problem about the thread being hijacked either, although to be fair I had an onset migraine, felt sick and was dealing with emotional turmoil and really didn't care. I do thank Moros for moving it. This morning I was still reeling from the side effects of my first experience with Imitrex, which my body apparently couldn't handle. Not the best state of mind for posting.

But Leo is right, and it's something I do feel strongly about - particularly because there are children out there experiencing the same thing. I didn't put it here to make light of. I did it because non-members find this place and hopefully will read the blog posting.

So read it and respond in at least a partially serious light, or write it off and forget about it. Most of you know I'm one of the most sarcastic and flippant members on here, and I've done my fair share of thread derailment. I'm not averse to a little joking. Sometimes though, sometimes, your Queen needs to get a serious weight off her shoulders.

So I'm sorry Sae, but that struck a nerve.

And while I do think people should toughen themselves up the best they can, no one is an island and everyone needs help once in a while. If posting this here does nothing but reveal to someone that they are not alone in their struggle and bolsters them just that much to be able to weather through, it would be enough.

And likewise I apologize for forgetting the emotional turmoil you were going through. There really was no excuse for my spacing that Undecided

A complete misrepresentation of the facts.

My final thoughts on the matter. Because you're a moderator here. And as such one would think you'd be charged with the responsibility of setting a better example of that by electing to forgo the calling of your nature and work so as to appear mature. That's why. Smile

She's not a moderator. Just beloved by far too many to escape notice.

Sae is not a mod. She is not charged with any responsibility. Now talk about gay marriage or go to the penis slingers thread.

Adrian should create a few more colors for some of the resident titles.
PS - Jud. Simmer down. You've been here a month and you're already telling people who you think are mods how to act? I appreciated the defense, but as you can see it doesn't quite matter who you're dealing with - the admins and mods are fairly quick to act. The rest of us take our lumps. If we can't defend ourselves, we leave.

Like minimalist and fr0d0 Big Grin Maybe a special and unique color should be a reward for having over (arbitrary)% of the posts in the forum Wink

But then I won't be so special Tiger (liez... I'm always 'special').
