Global climate change: "Global Warming" is happening.

Why it is happening the way it is is what people put up to interpretation.

I for one see a mountain of compelling evidence that humans are having a large negative impact on the Earth's climate.

Negative with relation to ourselves sure. I wouldn't go so far as to call a crusade to save Gaia. More a dedicated campaign to save ourselves a serious amount of trouble.

Maybe one of our members with better expertise in climate modeling can help me out in reading the NOAA charts.

You thought it was bad down there? Try fishing in it. Waves that take you another 8 feet in the air if not more. With salmon so many you almost can't get the line up. And when you do: you'll shit bricks there are so many salmon.

"too many fish. price dropped to $1.50. no breaks. exhausted. ran out of totes. Breakfast 5:30. Dinner 2:00 next day. Hundreds of fish in one net. thousands of fish. Truck broke. So many fish. they were falling out of the net. insane. nightmare. over 50 totes. lost count. so many fish."-Nicole, my niece.

Keep on like that and I'll spend my next paycheck to do arson to some annoying fishing boats. Dodgy

And yes, I sure as hell can find a way to set harvested fish on fire.

FFFF...

This is global warming thread, not "I fish and make money."

I'm just getting out of climate denying. Can anyone recommend any books to me?

Oh, it is pure ego to believe that we could actually destroy the earth. The truth is, the earth will be fine, no matter what we do to it. The human race, however, could be fucked.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

RE: Global Warming
It is confusing that the information is getting skewed and used for political gain and revenue raising. some sources say the global temps are lowering and sunspot activity is getting less in line with the 'Mini ice age' (1600s I think).

It IS the height of arrogance that mankind thinks that he is affecting the global temperatures in a meaningful way. He IS shitting in his own nests and the temperatures of cities ARE rising so is this the anthropogenic global warming we are talking about?? If so?? So what?? Humans are fucked if they let it continue but by the time they get their collective shit together the Climate will have changed to something else and the cities will be no more.

RE: Global Warming
I heavily doubt if climate change progresses unchecked that man will be fucked over.

In fact, I expect man will adapt after much death and consumption of energy supplies. But man will adapt.

A crowd of uneducated, early humans got through the ice age just fine. What makes you think at least a crowd of forward thinking humans won't get through the next global fu-bar?

Personally, I like our current climate as it is and see it necessary to take steps to preserve it.
